Toasted Sandwich: Tosti
Image of Dutch Toasted SandwichA popular snack or light meal in Holland, toasted sandwiches or tostis are traditionally made on white bread. The most common fillings are cheese or that quintessential Dutch combo, cheese and ham.

However, you can make toasted sandwiches with any kind of bread or rolls and fill them with anything from goat's cheese and sundried tomatoes to bacon and roast chicken. This recipe includes a list of vegetarian and non-vegetarian filling suggestions or you can experiment with your own ideas. Eet smakelijk!

Summer Yoghurt and Raspberry Flip

Image of Summer Yoghurt and Raspberry FlipWhen the sun is shining - which unfortunately it doesn't do that often in Holland, even in the summer - the last thing you want to do is spend hours inside preparing food. This fresh, light yoghurt and raspberry flip is the perfect solution. Made from fresh raspberries, which are at their best in the summer months, yoghurt and vanilla custard, it only takes about 20 minutes to make. It can also be made in advance and kept in the fridge until needed.

This recipe contains orange liqueur but you can simply replace this with orange juice to make the dessert suitable for children or for a healthy breakfast. Eet smakelijk!
