Indonesian Fried Rice: Nasi Goreng Ever since the Dutch explored the Indonesian archipelago in the 16th and 17th centuries, Indonesian ingredients (predominantly
spices) and several dishes have found their way into Dutch cuisine. The names of many of the dishes have remained in Indonesian
and have been incorporated into the Dutch language.
Nasi goreng, or fried rice, is just one example. Follow this recipe as it is, or experiment with different vegetables and meats. Serve with crispy prawn
crackers for an easy, colourful one-dish dinner. Eet smakelijk!
